Kathy and Mark came to find Pick Me! through a prior client. I was so excited when I first met Kathy, I loved how she was an independent career woman with so much energy and enthusiasm for life. She and Mark had been together 10 years and decided to tie the knot. The couple wrote their own vows and with all the weddings under my belt I had never heard someone say "I love your butt" in their vows!!
Mark has long been a local sports caster in the Denver area and was the "go to guy" since Kathy travels most of the time with her career. When Mark and I first sat down together it was fun from the start. The one thing he insisted on doing was singing Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" to Kathy at the reception. So we planned a total "Rat Pack" themed wedding for him to do so.
Downtown Denver, since its home, seemed like the perfect place for the couple to say I DO! The couple chose Kevin Taylor's at the Opera House, as it held that old school club feel. Adding in a Sinatra tribute band, an Ice Cream Bar for dessert and one fabulous looking bride and groom and the night was set.
Mark and Kathy are both big music fans and wanted music to be a big part of their wedding ceremony. Kathy walked downt he stairs escorted by her nephew and step son to Stevie Wonder's Signed Sealed Delivered and the couple ended their ceremony reciting the first couple of lines to James Taylor's How Sweet It Is as the band played. After dinner Mark took the stage to serenade his new bride into their first dance.
Casey Wigatow from Two One Photography took the wedding party out on pedi-cabs for some quick photos before the wedding hitting up Coors Field, The Denver Zombie Crawl and the Curtis Hotel. The colors of the day were just amazing!!!
Decor by Southern Charm Events set the stage for the that lounge look and feel. Using lamps in place of flowers on some tables, autmun oranges and golds, and photos of old lounge singers from the 50's and 60's for table numbers helped create that Retro American Lounge feel for the evening.
Mark and Kathy, I wish you a life time of happiness and thanks for trusting your big day to me.
